About us

The region from the Hungarian border towards Apatin and Bačka Palanka is a brilliant mosaic of

roads, alleys, reeds, hunting grounds, hidden corners of green and open vistas. This naturally diverse

region is home to hundreds of „čarda“-s. These traditional „čarda“-s are fish restaurants in which one

can enjoy evenings filled with delicious food and drinks and stirring live music from traditional

tambura orchestras. It is here, near Bezdan, you will find the beautiful hidden landscape that is our

Holiday Area, Kenđija. This stunning area is encircled by natural landmarks such as the Lašufok and

Baja-channel, Dead Baračka and the beautiful Karapandža forest.

The first mention of Bezdan to a savvy traveller will usually conjure up images of the Danube. The

magnificent Danube river is the center of a unique nature reserve, known as Gornje Podunavlje and

Bezdan boasts being the first place where the Danube flows majestically into our country. Indeed, it

is the first of many stops on its long route through Serbia. This section of the Danube also acts as a

natural border with the Republic of Croatia. The mighty river has long been recognized by the people

of both shores as a symbol of neighbourly connection and good will. The potential of which,

continues to strive to fruition.

Bezdan is located at a trijunction, 10 km from the Hungarian boarder checkpointof Bački Breg. Its

nearest large city when locating it on a map, is Sombor, the main city of the County.

Bezdan is situated on the left bank of the Danube and is surrounded by a network of channels. These

channels (especially Baja-channel) are abundant with fish and are particularly popular with nature

lovers and those looking to relax. From this fortunate natural aspect, one can delight the senses with

the calming blue of the water and the sound of the wind rustling through willow and poplar trees as

it carries soft white blossoms through the air. There is a unique polyphony of nature’s sounds that

can either relax or ignite the imagination.

The first visitors to this extraordinarily untouched oasis, instantly recognised its potential for leisure

and relaxation and established this holiday area as Kenđija, a secret nook for peace and solitude.

What they could not have imagined then was that Kenđija would develop simultaneously into both

an island of freedom for the younger generations and also a destination for hosting brilliantly wild

parties. This truly is a place where you can party with nature by night and allow the same natural

gifts to recharge your batteries by day. Now that is what we call Balance! Delightfully unexpected

and truly unique. Especially in the summer.

There is no better way to experience this balance than to pack your bag, come see for yourself and

chose your individual recipe for holiday bliss.
